The trunk turned out to be a real mess.
The factory rubberized undercoating was hiding a lot.
I found a '86 4kq that had a non-rusted trunk.
It is not exactly the same as a urq,
but we cut it out and took the two sides for a transplant.
Don't be alarmed by that rust color. That was only staining on the paint.
The metal under it was rust free.
After undercoating inside of the trunk, I discovered some additional rust. The bodyman had just filled this hole with bondo. When I put the wire wheel to the underside, it opened it right up.
